Thank goodness your bullshit will only be present for another 15 years or so.
This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.
you are an immature little child. please take your ideas elsewhere.
No you won't because there would be possible reprocussions. There are no reprocussions for your actions when you're in the stands. You bought your ticket, and you can do whatever you want, regardless of the appropriateness.
So you going to boo Biggio, to his face, why you are on the field? If not, why?
You don't have kids do you?
This is absolutely true, and it gives a horrible example to impressionable children at the games. Usually those who boo are unshaven sorts who live in their parents' basements. I have had to explain booing to my children. You don't boo a player. You don't boo an umpire. You don't boo the other fans. You just don't boo. Period.
Booing, in this context, is the attempt by the fans to interject themselves into the game. Fans have no perspective, nor do they face any consequences for their behavior. It is gutless and rude to anonymously boo a man who is just trying to do his job. Especially when the booing is inappropriately interjected into a ceremony meant to highlight Jeff Bagwell. It was the same at the All Star game. Houston fans are children with no self control. (Or, what Zipp wrote.)
Hope to GOD we keep him versus go the Baker route.
i guarantee you he is a regular on orangebloods.com, which has the stupidest posters ever collected in one site.
You're a fucking retard. End of list.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The guy has had 3 years to completely revamp a severely depeleted farm system. Its going to take at least another year or two to see if the guys he drafted in his 3 go rounds will amount to anything in the bigs.
In conclusion, go fuck yourself.
When was the tombstone on the Chronicle? May 2005 sometime.
This place ain't a cheerleading squad. Cut this shit out or be ready to get run.
first game new season
insane fans chat all winter

I am not sure what you mean by this statement.
I would rather have Clank play everyday at 3rd if Morgan can't do his job.
Are you serious? I'm not arguing that he might do well batting second, but his whole problem is he's too damn relaxed, watching hittable pitch, after hittable pitch roll by like he's "Morgan at Bat"...with the same result.
OBP is not all a 2 hitter is responsible for.

I tell you why.
They don't matter anymore.
Astros must win.
Brewers must win.
Giants must win Monday.
That's it.
Magic numbers are meaningless at this point.
Astros, Brewers, then Giants. I take my chances with Roy at home on Tuesday.

I figured the booing of P dub was b/c he sucked as an astro and the fans were able to let him know about it now that he was wearing enemy colors. I was at the game and did not boo, but that was how I took it/what I thought the reason for it was.
Exactly-he failed to come through time and time again & once we released him he signed with St. Louis. Therefore he deserves to hear it.
So, do you guys boo when Lane, Ensberg, Everett, Biggio, and Ausmus fail to come through this year?
Also, if you got fired and a company with a better "record" hired you, can we boo you also?

Oswalt was hurt. second guess that.

Hell, if the offense would have just scored four runs...
Quote:
So, why did they pull Oswalt?
Quote:Quote:Quote:Quote:
- why Garner took out Oswalt after 6 knowing how overworked the bullpen is
- why anyone would pitch to Pujols with the game on the line and an open base
That Pujols guy...you know, he's not a bad hitter. Who is he? Where did he come from? I'm guessing if he keeps hitting like this the rest of the league might start to catch on.
I hate that fucking prick, he's worse the bonds.
Worse at what?

That was insane. First time I've had to use the 2nd scoresheet that I bring to every game.

Yeah, that's incredibly stupid if he's going to play any oufield at all limit it to left field in Houston. Not only for his hamstrings sake but for the damn sake of team defense because he's butchering balls on a daily basis in the outfield.
Daily basis?

I have gone to ball parks all across the nation and I was disgusted last night. In the 3+ years I've had season tickets people have rarely bashed opposing players and it's normally only friendly poking and stuff but yesterday they had security lined all around my section last night, 105. First time they've had it like that other then the playoffs. What pissed me off was that they were threatening to throw people out when not one harsh thing was said to bonds. People were heckling him but it was soft, not a single bad word was said.Their was 2 guys behind me who were continually bitching to the security that people were being "vain". I've been up in the northeast and gone to games in Wrigley and F bombs are flying out everywhere. If people are going to cry and stuff then they should keep there ass at home.
I'm not much for taunting or heckling, but the nits that don't know what the word "vain" means should've been ejected on general principles.

...because Lofton was able to bloop one in that was 2" off Willy's glove?

Have you seen what happens when Biggio "opens up his strike zone"?
Quote:Quote:
It was a terrible decision on Biggio's part, I knew he was meat as soon as he rounded 2nd. The game was tied at that point and if he would have stayed at 2nd, it would have given Berkman a chance to knock him in as long as WillyT didn't hit into a linedrive double play. Really terrible decision on Bidge's part.
It took a beautiful relay throw to get him by a hair. I don't see how it can be looked at as a "really terrible decision". It may have been the wrong decision (because he was thrown out), but the risk/reward of the situation made it a good move, IMO.

Lee has a fracture of the distal radial and the distal ulna bone in his hand. He will wear an immobilizing cast that will go past his elbow. Team officials won't speculate on how long Lee will be sidelined, but he could be out two to three months.
I heard he broke his wrist in a collison with Scott Eyre who also sustained a knee bruise. The radio report said out for 10 weeks definitely (which is what, 2.5 months!). Ouch!

Is it just me or is his grandstanding getting worse? Saw the replay of his dinger last night and just shook my head when he flung his bat.
Buster Olney wrote in his blog that Poo-holes should start getting the Bonds treatment. If he keeps admiring his shots and flinging the bat the way he is, he'll start getting his very own treatment. Instead of the IBB, teams will just plunk him when he comes up.
Give me a break. Are we REALLY going to start this again? I couldn't care less what a batter does after he hits a homerun. If he wants to turn cartwheels and run around the bases waving sparklers, be my guest! Most of the time, it's just because they are excited about their accomplishment, not revelling in the failure of the pitcher. And even if they are revelling, BIG DEAL! I'm sick of this pansy crap about being "disrespected". SUCK IT UP AND THROW THE NEXT PITCH, YOU PUSSY!
As HH posted, you want him to stop showing off? Then stop serving them up.

I've been watching the Clark-fest fireworks of the past few days and figure I'll go ahead and throw my hat into the fray. I happened upon the BFT back in 2001, made a few posts using this same handle, and then got away a little bit. I think I may have posted once or twice on the old version of this site, and I've been back and reading regularly for the past two seasons.
Grew up in Houston, but for now I am holding down the fort in Nashville, TN. As far as I can tell after two years here, Nashville is a complete baseball wasteland. The Atlanta Braves yukfest seems to die out somewhere in the Smoky Mountains, and the collective stench of Cincinnati and St. Louis don't quite make it this far. The main activities in the spring and summer around here seem to be watching the U. of Tennessee's spring practice and then waiting on college football season to arrive. College baseball is the one saving grace, with Vanderbilt fielding a solid team with a beautiful stadium and the SEC being the best college baseball conference in the country.
(As an aside, if you want a couple of names to remember, think Pedro Alvarez and David Price. Both play for Vanderbilt - Price is a dominating left-handed pitcher and Alvarez was hitting moonshots into the upper tank at Yankee Stadium before turning down the Yankees and Red Sox to come to school. He's National Hitter of the Week after going long 6 times in 4 games)
So anyway, I might start chiming in from time to time (hopefully 2+ years lurking is an appropriate probationary period), but my main weakness is that I rarely get to actually watch the games. So, I appreciate the insight provided by the board and I'll try my best not to suck.

Has anybody noticed Biggio is throwing the ball much better this season? When turning two his velocity on throws to first has improved a good bit over last year, IMO.

Actually, I think it's scheduled to be made up on Thursday.
I thought tomorrow was Thursday when I posted that......
