The Red Messiah left today's game against the Cubs in the 4th with stiffness in the back of his right knee.  Not exactly shocking I know, but after all the trolling today I felt the need to share something relevant.

Too bad.  I wish he could have a healthy season; he used to be one of the most exciting players in the game to watch.

I don't know.  He's still pretty exciting to watch.  That is if you find the prospect of seeing a gruesome sports injury take place exciting.  Kinda like watching NASCAR for the wrecks.

I really don't mean this in a derogatory way, and I mean no offense to NASCAR fans, but why else does anyone watch NASCAR? I thought that was why everyone watched it. On the rare occasion when I happen to catch a race, it is always because of morbid curiosity about the collisions.

Also FWIW, I'm not a fan either.

I realized the other day that Sirius has a NASCAR channel, where one can presumably listen to a 500 mile race.

I'd love to be in the living room one day, ear pressed up against the radio and slamming down cold ones, and my wife walks in and says, "Honey, are you still planning on planting those begonias for me?"

"Shut up, baby.  I'm listenin' to the car race."

Also, XM has a PGA channel, where you can listen to golf.

We're not back to "have they considered...." are we? Maybe he could walk on his hands and wear a glove on his feet? That would cut down on hammy industries. He could do a cool handspring move out of the box to get in running position.

It's their cheap ass front office that doesn't want to spend any money. But they finally made a good trade this off season in getting Bronson Arroyo. They were log jammed in the outfield and getting a quality pitcher was a valuable move to them. Bronson has already paid off with two good starts, and two homeruns- 2 more then Wily Mo has!

Barry Larkin curse.  Not quite up there with the curse of the Bambino (which was exercised in 2004) or the Billy Goat curse, but real nonetheless.

Actually, the curse was exercised for a very long time before finally being exorcised in 2004.

The one (yep, ONE) country radio station in Philadelphia airs NASCAR races on Sunday afternoons. It's brutal.

Actually, the golf channel is better than I expected, and I'm not even a fan of professional golf.

What I found funny was that XM had a second NASCAR channel last season where you could listen in on the communications between the drivers and crew during the races. I think they got rid of that channel this year. I never got to listen, but that might have been a little interesting.
