Whoever invented work hated baseball

I’ll admit, I barely got to watch this one but from a quick check of the 1st inning score, I could tell the good feeling from the past 5 meetings with the Reds may be evaporating. The Astros couldn’t overcome the Dickities’ 4-run 1st, 2-run 2nd and 1-run 3rd that made up all of Matt Albers’ time on the bump today and went on to drop this turd, 9-5.Read More

Personal lagniappe:
It was fun tonight to finally watch the Astros again after 5 days in a drunken musical stupor in New Orleans. Looks like I missed some good ball by the Good Guys. Let’s keep it up.

M’boy or M’boys?

The anticipation began last week when it became clear the Astros would finally face Matt Belisle, the young Reds pitcher and former teammate of the Raups. Who would they root for in what JackAstro dubbed the “Raup Heartburn Classic?” While the exact scenario Jim and Mark were hoping for didn’t quite pan out, the only runs the Good Guys hung on Matt were of the unearned variety as they went on to win their 5th straight against the Dickities 3-2.Read More

Reds bullpen in a nutshell:
Facing adversity head on, failing miserably, not quite sure what to do next

Neither Wandy Rodriguez nor Eric Milton are going to win a ballgame this season, I’m totally convinced. It just wasn’t meant to be. In other news, the Astros went out and wrestled one away from the Dickities on Tuesday night, taking it late from the Reds’ bullpen, which is easily the Astros MVP so far in the young season.Read More

Footer’s wrap

After a 10-14 record in April, the Astros hoped to start off the new month on a strong note, but fell behind quickly and the Reds snowballed their way to an 11-2 victory at Minute Maid Park, exposing the home teams weakness in every aspect as the good guys fell flat for the tenth time in the last eleven games.Read More
