You know, sometimes the convergence of the perfect storm is a marvel to behold… unless you’re the one stuck in the middle of the hard blowing wind, torrential rain, the flood waters and you’re seeing your brand new HD television with stereo system floating away down the middle of the street. When you’re sitting on top of your rooftop, you get to think a little, especially why in the heck anyone would think this is fun. I know, Wah Freaking Wah!

Well the major league baseball equivalent of a perfect storm that will just rain on anyone’s parade is Interleague Play and Angel Hernandez and home plate umpire duty. Read More

Astros recap

This was a game where the Astros bats showed but the defense and pitching disappeared. 5 errors in one game. Has any team, in MLB, ever won a game after having 5 errors in a game? Reminds of the football statistic that says 3 or more turnovers in a game and you’ll probably lose the game. I’m sure that is the same for baseball. I’m thinking 3 or more errors in a game and there is a good chance you are not going to win the game. Seems this game was a total team loss.

Now there are lots of things I could use.  A new stove, a $10,000 prepaid gas card, a massage by Johnny Depp in easily removable pirate attire just to name a few.  However, when every November comes around I always think, “I could use some baseball.”  Last year, that thought came earlier.  Like May 30.  I was reminded of this when I perused the Rangers’ website and there it was staring me in the face–You Could Use Some Baseball. Read More

Astros 8
Giants 7

How will Alyson describe this one?
AP via Yahoo!

The Astros looked overmatched today. Chris Sampson was leaving the ball up and the top half of the Giants line up was teeing off on him. With Miggy on mandated rest, the ball kept finding accidental shortstop Loretta. Tim Lincecum had 10 Ks through his 6 innings. 100 freakin’ degrees on a May day in San Francisco. Astros down 6-0 early? Hell, why not take a nap?

Keep watching.
