Astros 8
Giants 7

W: Byrdak | L: Chulk | S: Valverde (11)

HR: Bull! Mentor! Puma!

How will Alyson describe this one?
AP via Yahoo!

The Astros looked overmatched today. Chris Sampson was leaving the ball up and the top half of the Giants line up was teeing off on him. With Miggy on mandated rest, the ball kept finding accidental shortstop Loretta. Tim Lincecum had 10 Ks through his 6 innings. 100 freakin’ degrees on a May day in San Francisco. Astros down 6-0 early? Hell, why not take a nap?

Keep watching.

Down 7-3 in the 8th fucking inning, these boys again refused to quit, and put up 4 in that inning on a helpless SanFran bullpen, topped by a pinch-hit, deep fly to right by Darin Erstad that just cleared the wall for the game-tying three runs.

Berkman, who by the way, continues to be positively Berkmanesque, plopped a goddamned cherry on top of this one with a moonshot splashdown in McCovey Cove in the 9th to take the lead for good because…

…Papa Grande from the valley of green dominantly sat the Gints last chance down in order, sprinkling in coupla PONCHE! for good measure.

Geez, it’s fun watching this team. They truly seem to never be out of it and so far, it’s been the truth.

Keep watching!

The Battle for the Stinky Shoe starts tomorrow in Arlington. Chacon @ Ponson, 7:05 CDT.
