From God’s Lips to Elmore’s Ear

Posted on August 20, 2013 by BudGirl in Game Recaps, News

Rangers 16, Astros 5
W:Garza (9-2)L:Harrell (6-14)

recap

I could have sworn there were more than two errors in this game. I just seem to remember a lot of plays not being made, especially in the third inning. An interesting to note about the pitching in the game only 10 of the 16 runs scored by that team North of Houston were earned. The Astros still would have lost, but what a difference some better defense would have made. How often can we say that about this team? Daily?

The Hero of the game and the reason I’m glad I suffered through it was Mr. Jake Elmore. He came in and caught 4 innings then pitched a SCORELESS 8th inning. Maybe they found someone for the bullpen? Doubtful, but still a funny thought. Elmore was the only pitcher for the Astros that did not give up a run.

The Rangers have been beating up on the Astros for quite a few years already. Last night there was a stat shared that the Rangers have won 31 of the last 38 games. Ugh. It’s hard to be an Astros fan in Texas right now. And I have to say that some of my family members aren’t getting Christmas gifts from me. Ranger fans are as bad as Cubs fans. And I hate Cubs fans.

Happy Thoughts

I noticed on the boards talk of meeting up to watch the Express take on the JetHawks. I thought about joining the group but nothing seems to be set so I’m just going to take my Thursday and Friday off and enjoy doing as little as possible in the Houston area.

This makes me smile every time I see it.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Rangers 2, Astros 1
W:Darvish (12-5) L:Oberholtzer (2-1) SV:Nathan (35)

recap

This game started out similar to the second game of the season. Thankfully, it did not take until the 9th inning to ruin all the Rangers fans fun. Villar got his walk in the 6th, which ended the perfect game attempt. And then Mr. Carlos Corporan hit the shut-out-no-no-bid hit in the 8th. That was fun. It really was. Those Rangers fans probably wanted to strangle Mr. Carlos Corporan, but he’s too strong for them.

Lost in all the Davish crap is the fact that the Astros pitchers did a very good job on the day. 2 runs were all that were given up. 2 runs, that’s it. No more. Granted they didn’t hit the ball worth more than one run, and I didn’t view the came through a television screen so I don’t know if Darvis was pitching that great or if the Astros helped him along.

But, I’m still skeptically optimistic that the pitching is turning around. I’m trying not to let myself get to excited about the future, I’m holding onto some faith, but I just can’t trust everything yet. I truly hope the future is as bright and shiny as it is being sold.

Also, I hope the Rangers find themselves in a similar spot that the Angels seem to be headed. Would make future seasons mucho beuno.

Something funny.

Ober Hoes Fields

Red Sox 0, Astros 2
W:Oberholtzer (2-0) L:Lackey (7-9) SV:Fields (1)

recap

Yeah, that’s right, the lowly Astros beat the mighty Red Sox. Our band of misfits struck out twice as many times (12 to 6), stole 6 bases (with one caught stealing by Wallace), and outhit the opposition (8 hits to 5) to score 2 runs.

The rookie starting pitcher Oberholtzer (also called Ober and Obie during the broadcast) pitched 7 scoreless innings. He really did a great job. He doesn’t seem to have a flashy pitch, he just did a good job. He got his two strike outs of the night in the 7th inning with a runner on 3rd and one out. He just stepped up and did a great job. As someone said in the gamezone, maybe the Bourn trade wasn’t a bust (yeah, I’m too lazy to look up who said it).

Fields did a great job, I think he may want the closer job.

I don’t know how the Astros will fare the rest of the series, but it was still great to see them get a shut-out win.

Fun stuff:
Here’s my fun stuff of the recap.

It was a hot one.

A’s 4, Astros 3
W:Cook (3-2) L:Wright (0-4) SV:Balfour (26)

recap

Oakland tried to help the Astros win one from them, they had three errors in this game and gave the Astros a 3-run lead.
Keuchel left the game with a 3-1 lead after six innings, he did pretty well on the night. Not surprisingly, to me, the bullpen gave the team the loss.

The Astros were hitless over the last five innings, which didn’t help the bullpen. I think they need about an average of 5 runs to maybe not be able to blow a game.

The Astros have not won a game since July 12, when Cosart started in Tampa Bay. Yeah, it may not be as bad as it sounds since there was the All-Star break in that time, but for the month of July the Astros are 3-13. That is pretty fucking bad.

In good news:

I mentioned a while back that I wanted to share something positive to counter all the bad the Astros do, to lift my spirits. In honor of the series previews and the sharing there, I thought I would share just a little bit about one girls’ night out I had when I was 28. Was a FUN night, I won’t share all the details but I hope it is enough.

He told me we were going to fuck standing up. I thought Holy Shit. “Put your hands above your head.” I obliged and realized this is beyond fascinating, beyond erotic. It’s singularly the most exciting and scary thing I’ve ever done. I trusted myself to a beautiful man, who by his own admission, is fucked up. I suppressed the brief thrill of fear, after all my friends knew I left the bar with this man. He smelled of body wash and Brad, an inebriating mix. I wanted to run my nose and tongue through his smattering of chest hair.

He stepped back and gazed at me, his expression hooded. Salacious, carnal and I’m helpless, my hands tied, but looking at his beautiful face, reading his need and longing for me, I can feel the dampness between my legs.

He hooked his fingers into my panties and peeled them down my legs, he stripped me agonizingly slowly, so that he ended up kneeling in front of me. Not taking his eyes off mine, he scrunched my panties in his hand, held them up to his nose, and inhaled deeply.

I thought to myself, “Holy fuck, did he just do that?” He did, and then put them in his pocket. He stood up and had a riding crop in his hand. Where the fuck did that come from I wondered? He leisurely circled my navel and I got goose bumps. The second time around his flicked the crop and hit me underneath my behind, against my woman area. Shock ran through me, and it’s fucking hot.

And next Monday I plan to report on the Hooks v. Missions game. I’ll be going to games 1 & 2 of that series. Have a great week everyone.

Yeah, that was a really ugly one.

Astros played bad, Rays did not.

Good Things:

It took me a while to find something that I thought was good enough for this preview. I totally missed an opportunity to do the recap on Memorial Day, but hope I found something entertaining for Fourth of July.

Happy Fourth of July. May the Astros win and you all have a great holiday!

White Sox 4, Astros 2
W:Jones (3-4) L: Norris (5-7) SV: Reed (20)
recap
gamezone

Well, one bad inning and Bud takes the loss. But, I still think the Astros had a great series against the White Sox. I didn’t see any of it since I was not at home, yep, the Comcast Sports Network got me since I was at my parents in San Antonio.

Three out of four is still pretty damn good.

Last week I recommended that to get the best information check out the Bus Ride. OSF has a great list to track signings. I totally recommend you check both out often.

Good Stuff
Sunday night I went to a NBA Finals game. OMG it was so much fun. I am finally getting my voice back. Spurs fans are very loyal. I knew I didn’t like LeBron James prior to this series, but geez, he is a whiner. And the Heat dives more than Greg Louganis at the Olympics.
