The Express has hit a rough stretch. Friday night, Runelvys Hernandez had pitched five shutout innings and was staked to a 3-0 lead. Then came a 3 run sixth and a 2 run 8th for Colorado Springs while the Express couldn’t push another runner home. The final result was a 5-3 loss.Read More

Lexington was rained out but that doesn’t mean we don’t have news from them. Greg Langbehn has been frustrated with the play of the Legends at times has found a silver lining in an otherwise dreary season. Here are some of his quotes from the Lexington paper today:

“Our (eight-game) road trip was actually an excellent defensive road trip up until the game we had seven errors. That was just one of those nights where everybody was going to get the ball and everybody was going to make an error. But … we’ve gotten better defensively, which is a big thing.”…Read More

J.R. House hit a solo homer. Chad Reineke gave up two three run homers. You do the math. That leads to a loss. The final had the Express on the short end of a 10-1 score.

Roster note: Stephen Randolph was traded to Philly for a player to be named later. Kyle Middleton was called up to RR to take his place. Middleton has been on the DL since early April. He appeared in only one game for the Hooks prior to going ton the DL. In that outing, he gave up 3 runs in 1 inning.Read More
