The Good Guys held on last night to take a close and entertaining bitchin’ matchup v. the gNats of DC, 3-2. Woodrow was the big story of the night, allowing just 2 runs in 6.1 innings while striking out 8, including a hat trick by Zimmerman. Woody kept ’em off-balance all night, in part by not knowing exactly where the ball was going to go when he threw it. The control was mostly there when it counted, though he got away with a few. Don’t look now, but Woody’s 4-2 in 8 starts since the break, with an ERA of 3.78 and a WHIP of 1.20. My sources tell me that these figures are above average.Read More

Last night was the Fat Albers and Flapjack Show, with a special guest appearance by the totally resurgent Brad Lidge (as himself), as the Good Guys took the rubber match and the series in a 2-1 affair. All of the scoring came on 3 solo shibbies, which should keep the offensive write-up nice and succinct this morning.Read More

The action came in bunches, as the Good Guys blew their collective foot off with a shotgun came up just short with a furious late-inning rally to fall to 1-5 on the current roadie. Jason Jennings demonstrated that he does not want to be traded, giving up all 7 runs in just 5 innings, as his ERA ballooned to a robust 4.76, a number nearly as voluminous as his ample, Hildalgian can.Read More
