Wandy’s home/road splits were the story of the evening, as he took the hill at the Edifice of Greed. To wit:
W L ERA WHIP BAA HOME 6 2 1.76 0.93 .202 ROAD 1 8 8.16 1.73 .316
Yikes. I’d like to suggest some sort of platoon system, or perhaps even a surgical grafting of Wandy to another pitcher on the roster who has complementary road splits. A modified Superpitcher, if you will, who pitches lefty at home and righty away with equal aplomb and nearly universal success. On his off-days, he would fight crime and serve as a champion for the downtrodden and oppressed. Unfortunately, I can’t find the other guy on the roster right now, so the club may need to source someone via waiver trade.
The first inning was the killer, as the Braves plated 7 on 4 hits and 4 walks. The Good Guys only got as close as 7-2 in the top of the 4th, before the bastards pulled away in the middle innings. My crack research staff informs me that the ‘Stros are 0-3 in the last 3 games when giving up at least 12 runs, so watch out for that developing trend. Otherwise, not much here to dress up, so you might consider heading over to NYCU, where Pravata’s google has no doubt unearthed some shiny baubles of interest to keep you well-informed and entertained.
