Ack. All day meetings. But before I leave you for the salt mines of aggressive boredom…
Round Rock walked off with a win thanks to Edwin Maysonet’s 10th inning solo home run to give the Express a 4-3 victory.
“It feels great (especially) after going 0-4 and not helping the team at all in the first nine innings,” Maysonet said.
Chad Reineke had his most effective outing since late May, going 6 innings allowing only 1 run.Read More
Minor game recapsLets start our trip around the farm in Greeneville
The G-Stros’ manager has been talking about how excited he is about these players. I got to see it first hand in Kingsport last night. Kyle Greenwalt started his second pro season off with a solid 5 innings pitched. Kody Hinze walked 4 times and had an RBI single while Kyle Miller drove in 3 runs to lead the Astros to a 7-5 victory on opening night.
Minor game recaps“Greenwalt was throwing the ball exceptionally well in Spring Training. It translated to here,” Linares said. “He’s matured a lot. It’s good to see him do that. Pitkin, the same thing. He got into a little bit of trouble but stayed focused and did a good job.”
“Obviously, I think if Roy was performing better he might not have things in that vein. It’s really up to him to perform to the best of his ability. We’re counting on him to be our No. 1 guy and he needs to step up and be that for us. It’s a long season. Stuff like that happens. I’m not worried about it.”

During this game, I checked my chinese fortune stick and it said, “You will have an exciting night followed by trouble.” How prophetic. Astros are now on a six-game slide.Read More

Listless. Uninspired. Mailing it in. Dare I say, jaking it? After watching this team give one crappy performance after another, one wonders exactly what will get them out of the funk they are in. Read More
