Arent yall cute.  Everyone is perfectly aware of the situation.  What's the point of scurrying to the computer to post crap like that?  Brain dead pukes.

Who cares?  You're the only one frustrated? Or are you frustrated more?  Besides, weren't you going to Italy anyway, whether or not the Astros made the playoffs?

I should have invited you over to watch Dancing With the Stars.  You wouldn't be as frustrated.

BTW, anyone going to the game on the 23rd that might want to sell one of their tickets, I can find someone that is willing to buy it.

Uh, you just started another one.
Chuck Norris once ate three 72 oz. steaks in one hour. He spent the first 45 minutes having sex with his waitress.

I'm not sure circus is inclusive enough; you might want to go with 3-ringed circus.....or should I just go fuck my stupid self, as the writer of Iliad & Odyssey seems to suggest?

not a circus at all. Lidge pitched Albert the same way Clemens did in 2004 Game 7--hard in. they seem to think that is better than taking a chance on hanging a slider. he shattered the bat so just say wow to AP's strength. Lidge pitched him fine.

what will get Lidge traded, imo, is his loss of command/control. when Spezio came up, i KNEW he would get on, and i knew HOW. i would have bet hard-earned money on a HBP, and Lidge did not make me wait long.

It's as if he were drawn to Pujols; he couldn't help himself.

Me, too.  I had no confidence he would get Spezio and avoid Pujols, and I knew what would happen next.

Anyway, part of what this board does is give me a place to vent when I'm disgusted/frustrated/pi**ed, etc.  We care about this stuff and get worked up about it.  So after last night's game I would expect to see a flurry of posts.  Maybe that's a short-term loss of perspective, but there it is.

I knew this season was pointless, right from Day One.  I just KNEW.

I'm saving up my posts for that thread, when it comes.

"My" season was over the minute we moved to London.  Waking up to read a boxscore or read a recap is NO way to follow a team.  One of the only reasons I regret moving is not being able to follow baseball "properly".

ok....  might want to talk to me about that regret thing again when the sun starts coming up at 9:00 and setting at 4:30

It's a little impolite when it comes up at 5am, too.

I got the feeling of doom when Lidge threw the 58-foot slider early in the inning (I can't even remember who was at bat).  That seems to be the early indicator that he's over-throwing, and he never seems to get things back in order once that happens.  Like you, I was completely unsurprised when he hit Spezio; the only surprise was that he did it on the first pitch.

A WP or PB on one of those 58-footers, and the possibility of a bases-loaded walk explain why Pujols wasn't walked intentionally.

Congratulations, you, Garner, and anyone with two functional brain cells have figured out what John Granato and every single caller couldn't.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

No kidding.  4 1/2 games out with 19 to play and Roy pitching today.  I'm still "in a meeting this afternoon" and tuning in.  This has been a fascinating and exciting year of Astros baseball.  Nothing like 72-90.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

That was to Preston Wilson on an 0-2 pitch.  It bounced twice before getting to Ausmus.  However, he struck out Wilson on a slider that was absolutely sweet.

Lidge's worse pitch of the night was when he hit Spezio with the slider.  Ausmus wasn't calling for an inside pitch, so Lidge just had absolutely no command of the pitch when he let it go.  Oddly enough, he pitched Pujols tough and 99.99% of the major leaguers will never hit the pitch that Pujols hit with any authority whatsoever.  It is at worse a weak pop out to short/third base at best a swing and a miss.

Albert Pujols is just too damn good for this league! It is ungodly how good he is at adjusting to what the battery it trying to do to get him out in the at bat.  The pitch Lidge made to Albert last night was the same pitch Oswalt threw to him in game six of the NLCS.  Oswalt struck him out because he was just a tad batter at locating the pitch just above Pujol's hands than Lidge was last night.  But then again, Albert was prepared for being busted in on the hands, so he was ready.

Yes, before we get too far into walking Pujols, Garner did consider it,

"I could have had an option," Garner said. "Brad's throwing pretty good. If I bring in (lefthander Trever) Miller, they're going to pinch-hit a righthander. That's probably (Gary) Bennett that's hitting .460 against lefthanders. Yeah, you can say, 'Why do it (pitch to Pujols)?'

Exactly...nothing wrong with how they pitched Pujols, or that they pitched to him in the first place.  Now, leaving leadoff doubles on the basepaths, giving up base hits to guys that are down 0-2, not hitting the piss out of Jeff Weaver..those things, they were wrong.  Everyone's talking about Lidge, but the fact is, the Astros shouldn't have been in that situation.  The game was theirs for the taking.
