Altuve singles then is picked off
Tucker Ks (the 2 hole has not been kind)
Correa Walks (apparently the Tigers want nothing to do with him)
Lowrie hot shot at Martinez but he makes the play

0-0 after 1

Edit.  memory served poorly there.  Tucker has hit well batting second.  Just not recently

Though the frequency has slowed down remarkably, Verlander is always a threat to pitch a great game.

It is tough when someone you don't like is on a team you do like.  I have never been a Blum fan, I remember when he was playing in the ABL the swag and cockiness annoyed the hell out me.  I warmed to him a little over the years... but only a little.

Quite sharp. I was dicing some apples for a salad tonight, and some apple cubes started to fall off of the blade and I tried to catch them. Oops. No stitches, but a good bleeder.

Who would have recognised Morgan from his playing days?

I would watch him walk past with keen interest but I'm not sure I'd recognize him as such.

'Stros desperately needed that one... (Kinda like Gomez desperately needs something here...).

I went out to the garage to paint some drawers in the 7th.  I'm going back to the garage now.

Well then.  4-1.  That didn't work quite the way it was supposed to.

I thought the plan was to build suspense for a walk off win, plan is working out great.

HH must be at the football game.

Indeed I was. What did I miss?  Carlos Gomez being his usual humble and gracious self?

He was very gracious last night walking back to the dugout with his bat in his hands.

I'm sure he's pressing, trying to impress his new team and fans. He's so high strung. I would sit him for a couple of days to try to relax him.

Not me.  I'd sit him down; tell him to quit dicking around; he's not some rookie with no track record who needs to prove himself; he's a veteran with a long track record; no go out and just be you.

Oh, and quit visiting OWA and reading what that HH guys keeps writing.

That's probably good advice for everyone.

Al Alburquerque

Coolest name ever.

However, when you have nicknames like Stubby Clapp and Razor Shines to consider, it is a wonder what the players call him. Allie doesn't sound right. Maybe "quirky?"

That's the thing: When your name is that cool, nicknames are unnecessary.
