Bochy looks like the guard at the Gorge of Eternal Peril, but with short hair.
What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
African or European?
Boojwah is caught leaving early on a pickoff but Huff's throw is bad to second and the steal is successful.
I'd gone all day without seeing that fucking flash mob video. Now, in the next two hours, I'll see it three or four times.Oh, and here's that fat Miller High Life fuck, with the new wraparound commercial. Great.I'll be working up a noose by the sixth.
I'd like to see the Miller High Life guy doing a flash mob schtick. To a Steely Dan tune.
I am afraid Ron would not take the time for a noose. I'm thinking a gun to each temple.
Yeah, well. No.
I've got a friend whose father called him out to the porch when he was ten so he could watch his father blow his own head off with a shotgun. He has issues.
How selfish and sad.
Those are some nasty curves. Fontenot didn't have a chance.
If you put a lump of coal in Aubrey Huff's ass, you'd have a diamond by the fifth inning. But he draws a walk anyway.
Although it's against the Astros, I'm glad to see that. It seems like there are many opportunities for third basemen to get the final out by dealing on the runner moving from second to third, but instead they throw to first. Why not just tag the guy out?
66 degrees in SF. I need a big lottery win so I can get a Fun House in San Francisco.
A big lottery win might not be enough. You might could get a short sale condo in the Outer Sunset.
Damn, I thought I'd get more love for Billy Joe.
Yeah, and I gotta have expense money too. Can't live on mission tacos all the time.
With these offenses, this game could go on forever.
Appy with some air time.
It's Mission burritos, and yes, you can.
I forgot, they're burritos in California.Maybe YOU can eat them all the time, but I've got to have something else every once in a while.
Have you ever taken sushi to go? I doubt it.
Do I have to think of everything around here?
Not on a dare.
Ok, I've never seen that before. Mota Baba Booey'd a pitch to the vicinity of the on-deck circle.
I'd expat myself there in a heartbeat if I had the jack.
Fellow stern fan?
Yeah, but he's gone so far downhill in the last year or so it's tough for me to listen these days. It's all Robin's yak, yak, yak and I don't give a shit about Ronnie or JD or Eric the Midget, etc. Tradeo is my favorite thing going these days. No one in the Artie chair has thrown the show out of balance and Howard's mental problems are running wild. Every second I hear Robin feels like it's taking a week off of my life. She's a pompous idiot.
I am not watching the game - I tried to put it on, but my wife said no, so I am watching Avec Eric. Mmmm, lardo.
I preferred Artie there too - the problem is, what the fuck else is worth listening to?
Why don't you do like Alkie and adorn your living room walls with 17 HDTVs so you can beam in all the eating shows and all the baseball at the same time? I'm sure you have wedding pictures and baby pictures and whatnot but slide those over to the bathrooms and put you up some TVs..
I have never understood the Stern thing. Maybe I'm just getting old.
Music. It's either Howard or music.
I've gone the projector route in the living room - can only watch one thing, but I can see 150 inches worth. In the bedroom now on a relatively paltry 46" - the ripper is biding his time until I have enough of a buffer to fly through the Texans-Giants game.
Niners. You want me to spoil it for you?Cue Ron Brand bitching about football in the GZ in three, two, one...
God damn fucking shit NFL bullshit fucking up a baseball forum...
Wright is going to fuck this up.
...teams I don't care about, fucking parity bullshit fucking up the damn...
I feel even better now. Keep it coming. You could go with Coddling the quarterback, concussion-phobic pansies, lockout loving bastards, etc.
"What is your favorite color?"
Nah. NFL is pretty much dead to me, has been on life support since the Oilers left. Brief moments of joy when the Packers did well.
What is WW doing in a meaningful game, as if any of them are meaningful at this point given our record.
Getting a ground-out to end the inning. Suck on that.
Has anyone ever seen Mike Fontenot and Curtis Painter in the same room?
Who is Curtis Painter?
My son got a concussion in basketball practice the third day of school. Has not been a pretty sight.
What the fuck else are you gonna do in the fall? Watch the NBA? I don't think so.
Basketball practice on the third day of school? Something's not right with this picture.
He did his job despite Brocail's illegal visit prior to the at bat.
It's been years, like maybe ten since I watched more than half of an NFL game. I generally watch less than two hours total in the entire season, plus the Super Bowl. I mostly just whine about waiting for baseball to crank back up again. There are brief ports like NCAA basketball and college football, but it's just a dead time.I haven't watched the NBA in a longer time, since Olajuwon retired and the playoff system made the regular season a sad joke.
I don't see how Brocail got away with that.
College football is grand, but we are talking 1-2 day's a week.
NBA regular season has to be the worst thing in professional sports.College football is grand, but we are talking 1-2 day's a week.
Boise State always seems to play on Tuesdays for some reason so you can make that three.
I guess it was more like team tryouts. Cuts were made.
Is this really a pitching duel or mutual futility?
Yes.
Thanks. I was trying to figure out a witty reply, but I overlooked the obvious.
Two times per break is a little much for that fat bastard. I think I'm going to call on my friends in the Lesser Kingdom to reclaim our lives. Ben! Willard! Tear 'em up!
On my trip to Chicago, I stopped in Miller's Pub (easily my favorite place to eat while in Chicago) and they had an autographed pic of that fat bastard near Veeck's corner. I almost stole it for you.
HDTVs don't work when Irene comes to town.
In August? That's crazy.
Mine's doing ok so far.
Where are you again?
Arlington, VA.
Just dropping in. I'm in Ft Worth tonight. Wow, extra innings!!! What is this teams record in extra inning games this year? Probably as bad as the regulation games, it seems worse.
Survived a quake and a hurricane - true american hero.
Jesus christ, just saw on twitter that Foster and Quin are hurt? Sounds like a disaster.
Hurricane is still ongoing. Most of South Arlington is without power, but somehow my lights are still on.
Just like every other NFL team. The total dependence on injury luck is why the NFL is so completely frustrating.
What happened to Quin?
... when you weld that tired southern good ol' boy bullshit to the odious reverse elitism in order to sell me a junk product and then beat me over the head with it, I react negatively.
Where did you end up going JD? Headed back in two weeks, can't wait.
But you're okay with the corporate profit seeking by co-opting of the veterans of Eye-rack and Afganistan under the cloak of charity.
Well, I didn't visit any really expensive upscale places, so I don't know if it will do you much good. Miller's Pub thrice, a couple of pizza places (Giordano's and Pizano's, didn't really like either one, which totally surprised me). I ran 6 miles one morning down the shore of the lake past, then turned up and ran north to Navy Pier. Was totally famished so I stopped at Harry Caray's Tavern on the pier for some hummus, which was surprisingly some of the best I have ever had. The tomato soup was passable.
Not so much, no. It's a long list of grievances.
Apologies to RB, but what happened to Foster?
Haven't tried Giordano's but it's on the list - you didn't like the stuffed pizza?
Go to La Oaxaqueña, dude, I am not kidding you.
Gino's East on Ontario. It's been 25 years, but oh my.
Maybe he fucked himself.
Hey, I apologized first....
Easy for you to say, I've got to figure out how to get there with a 10 month old and without a car.
Where do you stay?
Wherever is cheap on hotwire - this trip, the Millenium Knickerbocker at the top of Michigan.Have you tried Birreria Zaragoza? Would like to hit that sunday morning before trying to find somewhere to watch the Texans beat the Colts.
