Because Fox knows that "the majesty of the game" is the most marketable part of it.  They're not paying whatever they're paying to broadcast this shit just for the so-so ratings it gets.  It's because companies like People Magazine and Pepsi Co and Holiday Inn can wrap their dicks in black light paper then turn off the lights to show us how much they glow.
