I've had IE8 since it went to beta and I can honestly say...it SUCKS.
Leave it up to MS to make a "new" browser that 90% of all websites won't look right on. Good job, you fuckups.
I like having to click the COMPATIBILITY BUTTON on each page I visit and having forms delete info when I hit the TAB button.
Microsoft loves having non-standards-compatible browsers. They didn't update IE6 for what-7 years or so until Firefox started to make serious inroads? Apparently, they think that if they make their own freaky-deaky style of rendering, web developers will only code to their peculiarities, ignoring the standards-compliant browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc). But now they have 3 different f'd up ways to render (IE6, 7, and

and it's come back to bite them in the ass. Out of all of them, IE6 is still the most common, especially in business environments. And web developers already know how to work around IE6's limitations...so IE7 and 8 are getting the shaft, and most sites look best standards-compliant browsers! It's about freakin' time. I imagine Microsoft will eventually release a standards-compliant browser, they just don't have the leverage to pull this crap anymore.
