I seriously doubt Rolen would be ok with going to Canada

According to Kenny, Scott waived his no trade.

I have no rational reason for saying this, but my gut feeling is that Rolen will recover and be a good hitter (maybe not great) again, whilst Glaus will waste away without his steroids and HGH.  Also, a healthy Rolen is far better at the hot corner.

We'll see what happens but I'm guessing the Jays would get the better of this potential trade.

From what I recall Rolen took it personally during the '06 playoffs when LaRussa benched him in favor of Speizio (I think it was Speizio). Rolen's shoulder injury clearly was bothering him still and he refused to accept he had become a lesser player than before.  Also Rolen felt during the season that LaRussa eased him too slowly back into being the everyday 3rd baseman and that LaRussa disrespected him. Clearly a clashing of egos.

No, he just seems like an asshole who would demand being traded to the perfect situation for him (like he did in Philly)

Is it me, or does there seem to be a rash of posts around here about other teams signing or trading people the Astros either no longer or never had interest in acquiring?

I guess it just shows how bad the void is that the best topic choices are non-bb related or dealing with players NOT in the Astros organization.  (I tend to group Clemens in that 2nd part, even though he has the personal services contract)

I don't think it's the Void.  Keeping up with teams in the Central is what we do all the time.  And especially the Cardinals.

Ok, but is there really a difference at this point between Glaus and Rolen?  I think they are both about the same level of production, albeit in different areas as each other at this stage.  (Although I think Rolen had the potential to be more productive if he really is healthy this year).

Nope. Must be a rash of some other sort.

Huge difference.  Rolen was causing dissension for the Cardinals, Glaus isnt.

Different mothers also. And completely different styles of play and skill sets. But other than that . . .

It hurts my head less than trying to figure out why Fox decided to take a dump from space onto the Terminator franchise.

Not all the time.  The last couple of years we've had trouble keeping up with the Reds.

Why is River Tam protecting John Connor?

It still saddens me that, in a better world, we would be only complaining about the writers' strike interrupting the fifth season of Firefly

This is Fox's master plan, tear up one good show in order to produce 3 crappy shows.  Can't argue with success.

Really nice to see the Firefly love.  Rest in peace, Shepherd Book.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.
