Cody Ransom
« on: June 15, 2007, 07:58:11 am »
imo, he is a better every day option at SS than Bruntlett. i guess the Astros just told Ransom that he has no value to them. it is a shame if so. the man can play.

Speaking of players that should be called up - why is Stephen Randolph still in Round Rock? Maybe they are waiting for Miller or Wheeler to get their e.r.a. up to 8.

Wastn't Eric already on the 40-man?

You might as well ask Purpura to castrate himself.

Yes.  But according to astros.com there only 39 men on it with Gimenez on the 60-day DL.  But, if you add another guy to it you potentially cause some problems for Purp if he wants to do a 1 for 2 deal.  Of course if the Astros don't think Backe will be back this year they could put him on the 60-day as well.

I think the bell is tolling for this season, and there's precious little reason to rush Backe back. I'd put him on the 60, tell to take things slow enough that he doesn't re-injure himself, and we'll see him in the spring. I'd hate to see some setback that costs him next year too.

Because the the whole organization is racist. DUH.
Quote
Why is Brian Moehler still on the roster when we have Randolph lighting it up in AAA? I guess it goes to show you that the Astros racism is costing them ballgames. They deserve it. Since they are too racist to call up a black guy dominating Round Rock they deserve to have worthless Trever Miller and Brian Moehler get shelled and lose more ballgames.

Assumed that Loretta would play short when Biggio is playing and Bruntlett at short on Biggio's day(s) off.

Probably Loretta part of the time and Bruntlett part of the time.  Bruntlett should probably play when Sampson is pitching.

You have never seen the word sucks in any post that I have ever made.

Biggio was a very good player and I am glad he has gotten some hits lately.  Hopefully he can go on a hot streak and get his average up.

Luke Scott is back in right field for Friday's game after missing five straight starts.
Scott missed three games with a strained hip flexor and then two games with an abdominal injury.

And hopefully that is what we will see.  Loretta starting every day ... mostly at 3B but sometimes at SS and at 2B when Biggio rests.  Bruntlett as the "everyday" (~75%) SS and Iceberg/Lamb splitting the non-Loretta time at 3B.

I seriously doubt it. I see Loretta starting 75% of the games at short, with Lamb/Ensberg at 3B and Bruntlett for defensive replacement in the later innings.

My take of Pups statement: "You're our guy" as in backup shortstop.
"Baseball is simply a better game without the DH. "
