“We need [an extra pitcher] right now,” Cooper said. “We’ve got some health issues and people throwing and pitching a lot. Until we get our starters going deeper into games, we probably need to go with 13.”

…Cooper said he considered swapping out more than just Arias and Smith.

“I’m thinking, man, is that going to be enough?” Cooper said. “We might need another body. Do you send a pitcher out? The thoughts go through your mind. But we have to have 13. There’s no way around it.”

Oswalt
X-rays taken on Oswalt’s right index finger confirmed that he has a bone bruise, as originally diagnosed. He is not expected to miss his next start Sunday

Cootie Patrol
The Astros Pandemic Action Squad looked out on the suppurating cootiefied sacks of sloshing wet that is their fan base and have decided to provide sanitization stations at the ballpark. Jets of sanitized plasma will blast patrons as they enter the turnstiles. That’ll hold down the smell. (“To ensure the health safety of fans at Minute Maid Park, the Astros and Aramark have teamed up to provide additional hand sanitizer dispensers in prominent locations throughout the ballpark.”)
