Wandy tweaked

Posted on February 28, 2009 by pravata in News You Can Use

The Astros left-hander strained an intercostal muscle on his left side during his outing against the Nationals in Viera, Fla., on Friday

Here’s what Wandy told McTaggart Friday after the game,

“I felt not too bad, but I missed a lot with my location, maybe because today was the first day I threw,” he said. “I felt the mound was different. That one was higher than the other one. I feel great. My arm’s good.” (And oh yeah it feels like somebody is stabbing me in the ribs when I throw, so that could have been something.)  Link

Footer reminds us of September when he strained the same muscle on his right side and missed two starts. She’s calling this development “alarming”, or is perhaps warning us to be alarmed.

Cooper makes happy talk

“He said he only felt it a little bit yesterday, so we’re going to take a precaution. We’re going to skip one turn for sure, then we’ll play it by ear.” Link

David in Jackson made the comment in an unrelated post that there’s a half a season (almost) of ST to go so he’ll have time to get right. Link
