here’s one,
Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips suffered a broken right index finger during the 11th inning of a 5-4 victory over the Brewers on Tuesday night.
In the top of the 11th against reliever Seth McClung, Phillips bunted a 94-mph fastball foul but caught his right index finger on the ball. Two pitches later, he was still able to lace a hard RBI single to right-center field that scored Corey Patterson with the go-ahead run.
Phillips remained in the game for the bottom half of the 11th. It wasn’t until X-rays were taken after the game that a fracture was revealed.
