The Good Guys pooped out a series loss to the Brewers today, putting the magic closing record at 26-9 to finish at Coop’s prescribed 90 wins. The L gets hung on Wandy, who pitched sort-of-kind-of-OK, giving up 3 in five and a third innings of work.
This man would like to remind you that only two of those runs were earned.
The ‘Stros pulled within one after plating a pair in the 4th on RBI singles from Blum and Abercrombie, and the scored stayed there until the Brewers got the runs back on a two run jack by Hardy off of Brocail.
Down three and running low on chances, Houston loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the 8th the old-fashioned way – bunt single, hit by pitch, and error. Excelsior! They’re back in it, baby!
Then Pence hit into a 1-2-3 double play, and Newhan grounded out to 1st.
MY EYES! THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!
And that’s your ball game, folks. Til next time…
