Oswalt puts a stop to the foolishness.

Posted on August 17, 2008 by pravata in Game Recaps

Roy looked into the Arizona dugout and didn’t see Babe Ruth, so he came out and threw strikes.

The result was 8 innings of one hit, shut out baseball.  It wasn’t vintage Roy, it was competent pitching vs mediocore hitters.  Certainly not a team you expect to score 11 and 12 runs a night.   The Diamondbacks are a team you expect to beat if you scored 5 runs.  That is if you don’t hand them runs and baserunners with walks.  Too bad Wandy and Brandon didn’t figure that out too.   Ty Wigginton, doing his best to fill in for Carlos Lee, hit a 3 run homer that was all the runs the Astros would need to salvage one game out of the series.
