Oswalt threw his first bullpen Wed. since he went on the DL. He threw for 10 minutes 40-50 pitches, fastballs and changeups.
“I didn’t throw 100 percent,” Oswalt said. “I threw about 75 to 80 percent, and it feels pretty good. I’ll know a lot more Friday, when I throw 100 percent and see how I feel.”
Cooper said Friday’s bullpen session will be the determining factor in deciding if Roy makes the projected July 28 against the Reds in Houston.
Says Roy “The best thing about it is my mechanics are good enough to make my body take all the load instead of my arm. I’d rather have body parts instead of arms be sore. Once your arm starts hurting, it’s hard to change that.” Link
It’s reported he also said there is no reason to rush his return. This could be the reason,
“Right now we have all the earmarks of a bad team,” Berkman said. “I’m not saying we have bad personnel and I’m not saying we can’t turn it around, but right now the only thing you can say is that we’re bad. If we don’t turn it around, we’ll end the season a bad team. It’s unfortunate because I think we have talented players. We’re better than we’ve played.” Link
