They’re worried about Brocail being overworked,

Up until yesterday, when he gave up 4 runs vs the Cubs, Sampson had gone 15.1 innings since June 14, giving up only 1 run in relief. This stretch was interrupted by a 5 inning 1 run effort for a win against the Braves on July 5. At the time Cooper remarked on the chances of Sampson getting another start, “We’ll kind of see how things go,” Link
