Greeneville went 1-2 on the weekend. They are playing pretty decent ball for 8 innings of each game but they have one implosion inning and that does it. Case in point, Arcenio Leon’s lines from the weekend. Friday night, in the win over Danville, Leon pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief. He allowed 2 hits and 3 unearned runs. On Sunday, he came in and in the first inning of a 3 inning relief stint, he allowed 3 more unearned runs. Leon has allowed 10 runs on the year, only 1 has been earned. Greeneville has lost 9 of the first 13 games but 6 of those losses have been by two runs or less.
Ebert Rosario was dropped down from Tri Cities to Greeneville and has responded by hitting .455 in Greeneville. He was hitting .071 in Tri Cities.
Tri Cities also went 1-2 on the weekend. Phil Disher continues his hot hitting. He has hit .400 over the last 10 games and is at .396 for the season. He leads the league with 16 RBI.
Ronald Ramirez was dropped down from Lexington to Tri Cities on Friday.
Lexington went with out a win this weekend. Their best chance for a win was last night but they lost 3-2 in 10 innings. Despite losing all three games to the West Virginia Power, the Legends did have a power surge of their own. Jonathon Fixler hit a 2 run shot on Friday, Brian Pillegrini homered Saturday & Sunday, and Matt Cusick also hit one out on Sunday. The 3 homers on Saturday and Sunday were all solo shots and accounted for the only Legend runs of the game.
Salem also went 0 for the weekend. Salem pitchers gave up 21 runs over the 3 games. Mark Ori is riding an eight game hitting streak. His season average has climbed to .307
Corpus Christi went 2-1 this weekend. Friday, Brian Bogusevic, Ryan McKeller & Sammy Gervacio combined on a 3 hit shutout. Saturday, Polin Trinidad scattered 7 hits over 6 innings to take the win. Chris Johnson is on fire at the plate. He was 6 for 13 at the plate this weekend with a double, and two homers. He knocked in 7 runs.
Round Rock also went 2-1 this weekend. Saturday, the Express won off homers by Towles, Saccomanno, House & Sadler. Sunday it was Yordany Ramirez who went yard to lead the Express to victory. Although Ramirez is hitting just .228 on the season, he is hitting lefties well (.317 in 63 AB).
