Rangers 2
Astros 7
W: Wandy | L: Millwood
Wandy was all business tonight and the entire Astros lineup shook off a day full of drama to beat down the Rangers tonight 7-2 to take their 2nd straight series and maybe the boot.
Apologies in advance for keeping this brief but I must. All seven runs came in the 1st and 2nd inning as the bats jumped all over Kevin Millwood, who looked like he was pitching scared. The big hit of the 1st was Gunther’s bases-loaded triple over Josh Hamilton’s head at Tal’s Hill. In the 2nd, newbie Newhan doubled in 2, then singles by Berkman and Lee plated 2 more to give Wandy all he needed.
Eny was amazingly efficient with one of the best offensive lineups in baseball, throwing just 105 pitches through 8, almost 2 to 1 strikes to balls. His curve was on, 9 K’s to tie his personal best. His lone run was in the 8th after giving up a triple in the RCF gap to Murphy, then a RBI single to Kinsler. He finished the 8th, then Villareal came in and gave up another run for fun but then locked it down
So I don’t know, did they win the boot or what?
Roll out the red carpet for the fucking Red Sox. Daisuke Matsuzaka @ Runelvys Hernandez – say that a few times fast. Tomorrow @ 7:05 CDT
