Miguel Tejada on moving to Baltimore from Oakland “I played a lot of games against Yankees and a lot of games against Boston, and a lot of people watched them play. I became a better player.”

Werner Heisenberg’s theories Link regarding the observation of sub-atomic particles supposedly apply only to the quantum world. However he did raise the philosophical question of whether the “real world” generally exists independent of our observation. Miguel Tejada has re-phrased the question, “if I hit a double and a Yankee fan is not there to see it, does it really exist?”
Certain events of the past few days have caused me to miss the Astros games and the subsequent bed wetting by the Astros players and management. Particularly I missed the Sunday fiasco, (Kinglsey Amis, in his delightful book Everyday Drinking, reminded me that fiasco is Italian for bottle. ) If you’re paying close attention you will have noticed that there is no recap for the Sunday game. Ultimately I decided that if you did see it you wouldn’t want to be reminded of it. And if you didn’t see it, you’re much better off.
