Pettitte is looking forward to being received by old fans. He does not anticipate any animosity.
“I don’t know … everywhere I’ve been with the team this year, everyone’s been wonderful,” Pettitte said. “I didn’t help their franchises go to the World Series.”
“If it’s anything like it’s been, [the reception has] been great all over the country where I’ve been,” Pettitte said. “I don’t really anticipate anything but that. Everybody’s been great to me.”

“I’ve actually been kind of campaigning to get him back one more year, but I don’t know what he’s going to do,” Oswalt said.
At least publicly, Pettitte isn’t saying if he’ll be willing to pitch in 2009.

“I’m sure the ballpark will be electric,” Cooper said. “There will be some big players here. But we have some good players in this league, too. We should be revved up regardless of who we’re playing.”

Feckless and goofy is cute when they’re winning, however…
“Like we always say, it’s too early to worry until it’s not, and then it’s too late,” Berkman said. “Worry is not something that ever comes into the mind of a ballplayer about the team. We play 162 games. You play them, and if you stink, you stink. If you’re good, you’re good.”
