Wade’s 8 simple steps, sixes and sevens, the bar sinister

Posted on June 3, 2008 by pravata in News You Can Use

Wade “We have a list of things that our scouts are required to get before we’ll even put a guy into the mix for consideration [like] medical, psychological testing, statistics, scouting evaluation, signability, 60-yard dash … and unless we have those eight pieces of information, the guy really doesn’t go up on our board.” Link

That’s it, that’s the only things they need to evaluate a player. Also, this ashtray. And this paddle game, And this remote control. And these matches. And this lamp. …

And don’t count on any trades either,
“We’re obviously looking to see if we can improve certain areas,” Wade said about the Astros. “At this point, there’s nothing on the front burners. At this point, the focus is on the draft.” Link

Here’s a novel idea
“With regard to J.R., we’ve tried to use Brad more, probably, than we anticipated coming into the season,” Wade said. “We’re trying to create an environment that’s positive.” Link Substitute Brad Ausmus for a player that’s struggling to hit.

Wade spoke with Cooper on the phone Monday, and they discussed the possibility the lefthanded Bourn might sit a bit more while the Pittsburgh Pirates start three consecutive lefthanders against the Astros. Link
