The Astros have been scuffling on offense lately and on this night they would have to face Ben Sheets to try and break out of the offensive funk. That’s a lot to ask of the Houston nine since Sheets is a premiere pitcher when he’s on. He was on and the Astros were made to look very meek by the power pitcher from the Bayou.

There is really not much to be said about this game other than it looked early on as if the Astros were trying to make the early run tallied of Sheets courtesy of a Wiggington double and an Erstad single stand up against the Brew Crew. Houston starter Brian Moehler was doing well until the fifth when the wheels came loose and the Brewers scored three runs, two by way of a Cecil Cooper yack. Moehler would be pulled from the game the next inning for pinch hitter MIchael Bourn as Houston was still trying to muster some semblance of an offensive attack against Sheets. It would not happen on this night as Sheets just shut the door shut against the Blood n Mud and that was all there was to be said about this game.

Houston has now lost four games in a row, being shut down again by the opposing pitcher. Gnashing of teeth is in order if the skid continues tomorrow against Dave Bush. Check out the Gamezone to read what happened tonight and also to keep up with all games this season.
