before BP on Wednesday Berkman and Towles had a conversation,
“I wanted him to know that he’s not the only one who’s ever had to go through it, and it definitely will get better,” Berkman said. “And that we, as his teammates, just think the world of him.”
“It’s miserable,” he said. “It just makes you sick, to think, here you have a chance to kind of realize a dream, you get an opportunity and you’re not taking advantage of it. You feel like the window’s closing.”
Towles “It was nice of him to take the time out to talk to me,” he said. “I know everybody struggles, but just hearing somebody like Lance say he struggled. … He’s obviously swinging a great bat now, but he’s human, too.”

Playing through pain
Wigginton, “I probably came back too soon from the thumb thing; I probably came back too soon from the rib thing. By no means is that an excuse. That’s always been what I’ve done — as soon as I feel I can be out on the field, I expect to be out there to help my team, my whole career.”

Could explain some of his defensive and offensive struggles. Maybe he should listen to Geoff Geary after his injury, “Going out and giving up four runs proving to everyone I can throw with pain is stupid.”

Carlos Lee has named his competition 16-month-old Brahman Bull “Big Aus” after Brad. Why?
“The ‘Big Aus’ is big like the real big Aus,” Lee said. “They’re both big, they got big (backsides), and strong legs. They have a chance to win. At least the bull has a chance, the real ‘Big Aus.’ Link
Did he give up a homerun to Pujols?
Jason Isringhausen is scheduled to throw from a mound Friday for the first time since going on the disabled list last Friday with a laceration and infection of his pitching hand.
Isringhausen reported to the team’s spring training complex in Jupiter, Fla., on Monday and has since thrown from a flat surface, according to club personnel. Friday’s session is considered the first step in what could be as much as a six-week rehabilitation from the hand condition and mental trauma associated with a rough couple of weeks.
