Brian Pellegrini hasn’t had much of a chance in pro ball. Injuries cut his 07 season short in Tri Cities and he had started the 08 year in extended spring. So when he got the call up to Lexington and got the start last night, he made the most of it. He went 2-4 with a 3 run homer. Sergio Severino put forth another solid start allowing 3 runs in 5 2/3 innings pitched. The run support from Pellegrini and Colin Delome came after Sergio had left the game. However, there was one more homer to be hit and it wasn’t by the Legends. Final score – 7-6 Hagerstown.
Pellegrini’s call up meant the Brandon Barnes was sent down. Also joining the Legends was infielder Cat Everett.

The Hooks blew a 9 run lead and still won 13-10 in 11 innings. Tommy Manzella talks about his approach at the plate last night:
“They’ve been pitching me pretty tough all series and were pounding me inside with hard stuff and away with soft stuff,” Manzella said. “I pretty much was just looking for something out over the plate and he put a slider on the outside corner and I stayed back.
“In my earlier at-bats and the past couple days, I’ve been a little bit jumpy at the balls and was trying to relax and let it get deep.”
Ray Sadler has been called up to Round Rock
Round Rock
The Express got a solid start from Runelvys Hernandez and went on to win 3-1. Express pitching coach Burt Hooten on Hernandez:
“He’s not afraid to go right after people, and that’s a mentality a lot of pitchers don’t have,” Hooton said. “He’s not afraid to get hit. He keeps coming after you.”
Richard Paz was sent down to Corpus Christi to make room for Sadler.
