Ty Wigginton was in enough pain after being hit by a fastball in the eighth inning Monday to warrant having X-rays taken on the left side of his rib cage the next morning. The results were negative,
but Wigginton didn’t play Tuesday, and his status will be monitored on a day-to-day basis. Apparently, it hurts to run, breathe and cough.
Wigginton said “It hurt running, it hurt throwing. . Luckily, it’s just bruised.”

Wandy feels no pain
Wandy Rodriguez, declared himself pain free after throwing a simulated game Tuesday
“I feel nothing today,” he said. “I’ll throw again in Texas on Friday.” Link

Geoff Geary and lefthander Wesley Wright have stepped into the seventh-inning roles ahead of setup man Doug Brocail and closer Jose Valverde.
“He’s kind of stepped up and kind of claimed it,” Cooper said of Geary. “He says he wants it, but I’m going to use him or Wesley in that scenario right there, depending on the situation.” Link
