Plan B

Posted on May 13, 2008 by pravata in News You Can Use

“The last three innings, instead of trying to pitch to contact, I quit pitching to contact,” Oswalt said.

“It seems like every game, I get in counts 2-1, 3-1, 3-0. Just kind of pitching for contact instead of pitching to beat a guy in the zone.”

Oswalt recorded five strikeouts in his final three innings of work.

“I’m going to go right at them,” he said. “I felt a lot better the last three innings.”

Lance not like Bagwell
Berkman said Monday. “It’s not like a torn muscle. But it’s one of those things where if I were to run full speed right now, it would tear. It would come right off the bone. Maybe it wouldn’t, but it feels like it’s going to.”

…”Bagwell would have stuff like this all the time and he wouldn’t mention it. I like people to know about it so they can think I’m a wounded warrior.”

Matsu not like Biggio
Berkman: “I feel like the pitcher’s exhausted by the time he gets done pitching, even when [Matsui] makes an out. We haven’t a guy like that in a while at the top. [Craig Biggio] was a very good hitter but usually if he saw three pitches, that was a rarity. He either hit a double or made an out by the third pitch of the at-bat. Kaz is a difrerent kind.”
