This was a really fun game to watch , but life is kicking my ass around at the moment, and it’s not going to get the recap it deserves. If you’re scoring at home, that’s Life 1, Me 0, but there’s still time for me to make a comeback in the near future.

Sparky pitched a solid 7 innings, giving up 3. He was mostly in command of the game, and finished with a season high 9 strikeouts, 8 of them in the first 3 innings. Zimmerman had him pretty well solved, though, driving in all 3 on a pair of smokeys. The first dong opened up a 2-run lead, and the seconf pulled them even in the 6th.

Twinkie tied a club record for consecutive hits with a massive solo shot in the bottom of the 4th that ricocheted off the tracks and into the glass wall. Roy put the Good Guys ahead later in the inning with a big 2-out line single up the middle that plated Private Pyle and Beaker.

After some pivotal late LOBsters from both teams kept it tied up, Matsui got loose on the bases in the bottom of the 9th, and was standing on third with one down. The Nats walked Berkman for the second time to get to The Caballo, and for the second night in a row, he beat them with a walk-off hit (which might have been a sac fly, but Milledge wasn’t too concerned with fielding it, regardless).

The Good Guys look for the sweep tonight, sending Backe up against John Lannan. Go get ’em.
