Lee hitting, Berkman running, Wandy not pitching

“Pretty much every time I have two strikes I try to see the ball as long as I can and try to go the other way,” Lee said.

Lance Berkman, baserunner.
Berkman was on 1st when Lee hit the sinking line drive to right. Berkman recalls his baserunning tactics,

“I knew (Kearns) was going to dive, so I figured I would listen to the crowd,” Berkman said. “I figured if he caught it there would be a groan, but then I heard them cheer, so then I was like, ‘You gotta score!'”

Ed Romero is chopped liver?

Lance hobbled to his locker after the game, his upper left leg wrapped in ice. Is he hurt?

“Hurt — it is a relative term,” he said. “It certainly doesn’t feel as good as before the stolen bases. I won’t be stealing bases for three or four days.”

Asked if “strain” was an accurate term, Berkman said, “I wouldn’t even call it that.”

The rotation strategy
Rodriguez has been on the disabled list since April 20. He’ll throw at least one more bullpen session, followed by a simulated game a few days later. If all goes well, it’s likely he would have a rehab start before rejoining the Astros’ rotation.

Meanwhile
Brian Moehler will start Friday’s opener in Los Angeles, followed by Chris Sampson and Shawn Chacon.
