Yes, they are concerned about Bourn

“It’s a struggle for me,” Cooper said of dealing with the younger players.

“I have to learn how to handle it. Like (Saturday), there was an instance in the game that I got really upset. I have to calm down for a little bit, because it’s young players trying to learn.”

“Here’s my leadoff hitter and I talk to him all the time about having a plan and what to do when you go up there. But he didn’t swing the bat, basically the first two at-bats (Saturday). And I’m like, ‘Well, what’s going on here?’ You get a little frustrated with that, but you’ve got to understand that they are young. I could say the wrong thing or even do the wrong thing. He sees that, then all of a sudden he loses confidence, so I can’t. It’s hard sometimes to handle myself a little bit. I have to beat myself up and make myself not do that.”

“I look at (Bourn), and I think of him as a son, and I want to see him do well.” Link

Miguel Tejada thinks Bourn is putting too much pressure on himself. “I tell him not to worry about hitting. Just play good defense; the hitting will come around,” said Tejada. Link
