In a hysterical… errr… historical moment for this fansite, SpikesnStars has been invited to partner with 1560 The Game as another addition to their ample stable of team fansites in and around the Greater Houston Area. We’re certainly not the first nor the last fansite that 1560 The Game provisions a radio segment to in order to take the pulse of the everyday fan of a local team (Rockets, Astros, Aggies, Horns, Dynamos, Comets… Comets?)… but we intend to be one of the best. If not in the minds of others, certainly in our own minds. Which of course is usually all that matters to us any way. That and good beer and donuts, but I digress.
By the way, I find it odd someone would think it is a good idea to ask you freaks what you think… but I digress again.
Any way our beloved HOF’er Andyzipp will be the lead chair for SnS on Saturdays, 10 am on the show hosted by David Nuno beginning *this* Saturday, May 3, 2008. For those of you short on the uptake, the numbers 1-5-6-0 in the radio station’s name relate to the actual location of the show on your radio dial. Those of you with digital radio display should have less problems finding it… I hope. Here is how it works:
1. Andyzipp shows up at the radio station, announcing his presence with authority… ahum… wait, I’m reading the wrong index card, that was from the last misguided attempt to have a fansite softball game. Gimme a second here… the card Andy dictated to me should be around here somewhere… ah… here it is… ahem! So ‘Zipp is going to be on with the host, David Nuno, for a segment, which means at minimum, 30 seconds, at maximum when beer and donuts run out, which may or may not be 40 seconds given this is Zipp we’re talking about here. Naming rights for the segment are in negotiations now with several sponsors, many of which are asking us to pay them for the privilege. I’m not sure that is how that is supposed to work, but who am I to quibble. Try this on: The DampRid SnS Radio Hour! No? m’Kay… we’ll keep working on it.
2. David Nuno will review with Zipper this week’s topics of interest in the good old TZ plus any other information we’re interested in talking about from our eZine site (minor leagues, pravata’s opinions, my grammar issues, et. al.). Of course, some of the topics of interest will have to be monitored a bit… or maybe not. I mean, who wants to talk about penis problems in the Congo and iPhones? Oh yeah, we’re talking Andyzipp here… ooooh kay, tune in to what just might be the thing to get us banned permanently from ever doing this again. I’m not going to give up the idea of an Access TV cable show though, I think that would work.
3. So is that it? Isn’t that enough? Well no, somehow someone has decided (I’m betting John Granato, he has beady eyes… can’t trust a man with beady eyes) that it would be fun to have some, nay a lot of you freaks call in and actually talk on the radio. My gosh, isn’t Congo Penis thievery enough? Guess not, so SnS/TZer, you’re on the clock. Go ahead you buncha blowhard opinionated know-it-alls show us what ya got: call in. For those of you who already forgot the day and time, here it is again:
Saturday, 10 a.m.
Ahhhhh, don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking. Your thinking “Saturday?” and then “10 am?”, two variables that I know for many of you are difficult to reconcile. For one, I suspect many of you are not awake at 10 am on Saturday and if you are, chances are good you have not gone to bed yet from the all-nighter you pulled on Friday. Don’t give any excuses you losers, I’m not hearing it. Also, I bet a bunch of you are also thinking: Hey, I don’t live in Houston… how can I listen in so I can call in and tell Andy he’s a maroon? Well, not to worry, see they’ve invented this thing called internet audio streaming… “live” even. It works similar to listening to live Astros broadcast on MLB Internet Radio, only with no Milo, Do, Ray or Me. To stream the show while dealing with your hangover, simply go to 1560 The Game’s website and click on the Listen Live icon.
To call in: 713-439-1560
If you don’t want to call, but would rather e-mail: David Nuno at [email protected]
If you don’t want to call, don’t want to e-mail, but would rather type your nasty comments and inquiry for the show, we will provide a special forum just for you to do so. Sort of like the GameZone, but not really… or maybe really, it can be realtime. Maybe sometime soon, we’ll put up a chatroom in here and use it for the real time information swapping with the show.
Freaks.
Now, are you ready to go live? I said… ARE YOU READY TO GO LIVE TZ?!?! Good, thank all three of you who raised your hand, the rest of you just do the best you can and try not to hurt yourself in any way. God help us all.
