Round Rock
The Express only got one hit after the 5th and that resulted in a 13 inning loss.
“They came in and did their job,” manager Dave Clark said. “Carlos (Hines) gave us three innings and that last inning kind of slipped from us a little bit. It happens, but I was really impressed with the way they pitched.”
Corpus Christi
Mitch Einertson is still only hitting .235 but he is starting to find his stroke. Last night he had his 2nd 2 homer night in a week. He has knocked in 12 RBI in his last 10 games and is hitting .300 during that span. His 4 rbi night, paced the Hooks to an 8-5 victory.
Salem
Beau Mills of Kinston had his way with the 20 foot fences of Salems ball park. He hit a grand slam and a two run homer as well as putting a dent in the scoreboard with a double. All of that was too much for Salem to overcome in a 10-4 loss.
“We just can’t get off to a good start against this team,” Pankovits said. “Every single game, they’ve jumped on us early. It’s ineffective pitching early. The error by Sutil didn’t help, but these guys need to learn to pitch around that. They should be used to it, as they come up from lower levels where they may have had iffy defenses.”
Lexington had the night off.
Duman will have the next two days off as he is heading on a field trip with his child to Space Camp. Rockets & 5th graders what a fun two days!
