Although Valverde tells us that veterans such as Lee, Berkman, and Tejada are behind him, after a loss like that, the only position player to talk to the media was Michael Bourn,

“Jose is going to be fine,” center fielder Michael Bourn said.

“He’s our closer and he’s going to save a whole lot of games for us. We’ve got his back. These things happen. It’s a crazy game. We’ll be back and Jose will be back.”
