Chris Sampson missed Monday’s home opener after catching the flu bug that’s been circling around the Astros’ clubhouse,…
He worked out Tuesday and took batting practice, but he went home shortly after.
“They don’t want me to get everybody sick,” Sampson said. “I’m still contagious. I’ll watch the game tonight on TV, do some scouting that way.”
Sampson said there is no chance he’ll have to miss his start. “I am starting tomorrow,” he said. “I am going, for sure.”

Maybe we’ll hear something right before the game?

Matsui raring to go
Matsui got his first action in some five weeks Tuesday in his rehabilitation assignment opener in the Hooks’ 2-0 loss to Northwest Arkansas,…Matsui said he felt no discomfort during the game.
“None at all. Nothing,” Matsui said. “The doctor said I was OK to go. Even afterward I felt good.”
Wade told the Astros’ website that Matsui could join the big club by Sunday (if the rest of his rehab goes well.)
Matsui is just as impatient as the fans to get started,
“That’s what I want to know, a reason why I’ve been on the DL,” Matsui said Tuesday night through his interpreter, Yoshitaka Ono. “I’m the one who wants to know. But I’m trying to prevent things to not do that (injure his back) in the future. I’m doing stretching for my legs and my back and all of that.”
“It’s gonna be a whole lot of joy. Very joyful,” Matsui said. Link
