Oswalt. Sheets. A pitching duel waiting to happen. And that’s what we got for three innings.

Top 4: Kabong uncorks a one-out double to deep center, and Loretta brings him home with a single. Scott works a walk, and Sheets makes OBTYN look silly for out 2. Then fate intercedes in the fashion of the grass going out from under Greg Gross in RF, resulting in a 2-run triple for Ausmus.

Oswalt immediately gives two back on the “Oswalt Inning Lite”.

Oswalt makes it to the sixth, gives up the tying run on a FC, and then gives up the 2-out triple to make it 5-3. Oswalt Inning, Original Formula.

The Brewers gift wrapped a run in the 7th on an error by Counsel turning the DP on Puma; Sampson gives 2 back in the bottom of the inning (walk-SAC-WP-double-walk-single-SF).

7-4, two innings to go, we know how this goes in 2007, right?

Not so fast. With one out- walk-single-walk loads the bases for PH Pigpen. Sac fly to right (situational hitting? whaaaaa??) Backe then ran for lamb at first (why is Anderson on the roster?) Pence then clears the bases with a triple, and takes the lead run on a passed ball (ahh, the defense comes around the other way!)

Lidge took the 8th, and got out of trouble on a spectacular play by Loretta. Puma added a solo shot in the ninth, and reverT and Qualls closed it out in the 9th.
