Round Rock:
The Express survived a triple play and a double play with the bases loaded to beat the Isotopes 6-4. Chris Samson got the win in relief of Juan Gutierrez.

“You get a triple play and then come back, load the bases with no outs and get the double play, you start to go ‘Whoa, what’s going to happen next?’ ” Express manager Jackie Moore said.
Corpus Christi:
Ray Sadler slammed two home runs to over come an off performance by Josh Muecke to keep the Hooks playoff hopes hanging by a thread in a 7-6 win over Midland.

We’ve got a pulse — we’re still alive,” (Clark) said. “All we can do is win our games and whatever happens, happens
How big has Sadler been for the Hooks?
Quote
In his past 40 games, Sadler has driven in 40 runs. His 89 RBI lead the league and his 24 homers rank second to the 28 hit by Springfield’s Colby Rasmus.
Salem:
Salem lost to Wilmington 5-2 but claimed at least a tie for the wild card spot in the playoffs thanks to a loss by Myrtle Beach. Mitch Einertson continues his good play going 2 for 4 bringing his league leading average up to .314.
Lexington:
Leandro Cepedes made his first start for Lexington. He went 5 2/3 innings giving up only one run on 5 hits and a walk. He struck out 6. Despite his strong start, he took the loss in the 4-3 decision. Lexington’s runs came on a 431 foot solo bomb from Holder and a 2 run double by Henriquez.
Tri Cities:
It took 64 games for Tri Cities to get their first shut out, a 7-0 win over Vermont. They got it and almost got a no hitter in the process. Carlos Ladueth, made his second start of the season a memorable one; going 7 2/3 innings before giving up his first hit. He struck out 8, walked one and hit a batter throwing 96 pitches. His change up was called “definitely a plus plus pitch” on the night by his pitching coach.
Ladueth’s gem comes on the heels of Tom Vassella’s 6 2/3 inning no hit performance.

“I am very happy,” Ladeuth said. “A no-hitter would be good for my life. And baseball is my life.”

“I think we’re spoiling the fans here. Now they’re going to expect a no-hitter every night,” (Pitching coach Don) Alexander joked.
Matthew Cusick went 3 for 4. He had hit in 7 straight at bats before getting out in his final at bat of the night. He is 13 of 25 during a 6 game hitting streak.
Greeneville:
David Dinelli was in a hole in a hurry. After the first 4 K-Mets batted, the score was 4-0 Kingsport. He then settled down and at one point retired 7 straight Mets. With 2 outs in the 4th, he came unraveled and gave up 2 hit batters and 3 singles to add 3 more runs to his total. Greeneville wraps up their season tonight. The bullpen wasn’t very effective and the bats didn’t produce much in a 12-3 loss, Greeneville’s 50th of the season and their 6th in a row.
How rough is it in Greeneville, several season ticket holders arrived, got their promotional Astros stadium blanket (not needed on a 90 degree night) and left choosing not to stay for the game itself.
The highlight of the night was watching veteran MLB ump Dale Ford call the balls and strikes.
Albert Cartwright, whose playing time was delayed by Visa issues (not the credit kind), went 2 for 4 with a double last night. He is hitting .292 for the last 10 games while only striking out 3 times in 24 at bats over that time period.
