Round Rock:
Laynce Nix of the Nashville Sounds hit a homer in his 6th straight game as the Sounds defeated the Express 6-5. Jesse Garcia is in a streak of his own hitting a lead off homer for the second straight game.
Corpus Christi:
Ray Sadler hit a grand slam to lead a 7 run 7th inning as the Hooks came back to win 8-4. They are two games back of a play off spot

Lexington:
David Qualban got his 10th win and his 29th runner picked off in Lexington’s 8-2 win. Qualban went 6 innings giving up 9 hits and 3 walks but struck out 5 and only allowed 2 runs. Reid Kelly pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief for his 5th save. Brandon Caipen got his first start at Catcher filling in for the injured Max Sapp and giving Ralph Henriquez a break. Van Ostrand had 4 singles and Holder had 2 doubles to lead the 14 hit attack for Lexington.
Tri Cities:
Back to back split double headers for the ValleyCats. They dropped the opener 8-2 and won the night cap 3-1. Russell Dixon had a homer in each game. Jeff Icenogle was the pitching star of the 2nd game. He pitched 5 shutout innings striking out 8 batters. Icenogle’s ERA in his seven starts this year is 1.60. He has struggled with his control lately giving up 10 walks in his first three starts in August. He only walked one last night. For the year, he has pitched 45 1/3 innings giving up 41 hits, 22 walks & 53 Ks. He has only giving up 2 HRs this year.
Dixon has bounced back from a rough July where he hit only .174 to hit .364 in the first 10 games of August.
Greeneville:
The Astros were their own worse enemy last night as they surrendered 7 unearned runs in a 9-7 loss. Brett Robinson blew his second save giving up 3 hits in an 1 1/3 innings pitched that resulted in 3 unearned runs. The move down from Tri Cities has worked for Andrew Saylor. He is hitting .333 with 2 doubles and 3 runs scored in the four games he has played since the demotion. He has played error free at 2nd base as well.
