Greeneville took the loss yet again last night. Noguara pitched well but was hurt by poor defense from Rosario in the 1st. After a bloop hit to the lead off man, Rosio booted a bouncer that allowed the second man on and then missed the catch on an attempted steal of third. Greeneville’s bats were absent again as they had only 3 hits in the game and struck out 12 times. Tal Smith was present for tonights game. He and other Astros brass will be in town this weekend, expect several in game changes and multiple pitching changes as the brass want to see what they have in Greeneville. Greeneville’s winning percentage is the worst in all of minor league baseball.
Tri Cities won 7-1 last night. Home runs from Cruz & Gamble supported good pitching from Icenogle, Hallberg & Domingguez who gave up only 3 hits while striking out 13.
Lexington avoided a sweep by the Rome Braves. After blowing early leads in the first three games of the series, the Legends jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on to a 6-3 win.

“I just try to go up there and put a good swing on it,” said Towles, who has driven in 31 runs in his past 27 games. “I try not to do too much and look for something I can handle. I guess I’m getting the job done right now.”

“He’s a ballplayer — to me, that’s how you describe a kid like that,” Clark said. “He gets down, he gets dirty and he comes to play every night. That’s what’s going to make him a pretty good player.”
Backe had this to say:
Quote
“It wasn’t controlling the speed of the pitch, it was just basically trying to throw a strike. I’m a professional and all but, hell, it’s tough,”…”But when you get in that groove I was in after that first inning, it just starts to fall in place. It’s almost like riding a bike. You just have to learn how to pedal again and once you start going you’re OK,” he said. “That’s kind of how I felt tonight. I’m sure it’s going to take three or four starts for me to get through the first inning without any nerves.”
Troy Patton likes pitching in Round Rock and Cody Ransom just likes hitting right now. Patton made his 3rd strong home start and Ransom hit his 4th HR in the last 3 games as Round Rock beat the SkySox.
