And the suck just keeps getting louder. The shit snowball rolled into the desert and failed to melt as the boys stunk it up for their 5th loss in a row 9-1 to the D’Backs. This isn’t a Bagwell-style travelling horseshit show. Those guys underachieved. It’s scary to think that this may just be the limit to what this team is capable of. It sure looks that way.
Not much to recap. Wandy blew. Belt-high fastballs were sprayed all over the field and it was 4-0 before my 3rd beer was gone. Wandy went on to give up 8 runs (5 earned) in 5 innings. His opponent, Cy-fucking-Young in the guise of Micah Owings went the distance while making this anemic offense look beyond pale. 1 run on 9 hits and 8 Ks. This game had it all. Baserunning blunders, colliding outfielders, hit batsmen, a real laugher.
Let’s all hope Woody will rise to the occasion tomorrow and plug the hole in this leaky dike.
