Josh Muecke gave up 4 hits, and 4 walks allowing no runs while striking out 4 in 8 innings last night. After going 1-3 with a 5.22 ERA prior to the All Star break, he is 7-2 with a 2.65 since. Back up catcher James Goethals, who is not know for his speed, had two stolen bases on the night. Sadler had 3 doubles. Johnson & Maysonet homered to support Muecke’s strong outing, his longest of the year. The Hooks win 6-0
Salem:
Chris Johnson erupted for 6 RBI on a grand slam and a two run homer in a 19-6 win. Hart, Einertson, & Quintero also had 2 run homers. Salem was efficient using their 18 hits and 4 walks to score 19 runs. The Avs only left 3 runners on base.

Bryan Hallberg then came in and gave up 7 runs over the next 4 2/3 innings as the W. V. Power defeated the Legends 12 – 5. Jimmy Van Ostrand had 3 RBI and Ronald Ramirez doubled for the 3rd straight night. Every Legend batter struck out once as the Power’s pitchers rang up 12 Ks on the night.
Quote
RF Jordan Parraz, who leads the Legends in hits, runs, doubles, homers, RBI and stolen bases, is out for the rest of the season. He was hit by a pitch Wednesday at West Virginia. He has since undergone surgery to repair a crushed nasal cavity, and a broken and lacerated nose.
Tri Cities:
The ValleyCats were stomped 11-2 last night. Luis Pardo lost for the 8th time in 9 starts. He was the victim of his teammates poor defense has he gave up 4 runs with only one earned in 3 1/3 innings. Jordan Powell came in and was ineffective giving up 3 more runs on 7 hits in 3 2/3 innings. Colin Delome went 1 for 2 with an RBI to bring his average up to a team leading .318. He and Brandon Barnes are vying for the team lead in most categories. Yesterday I gave you Barnes numbers, here are Delomes. He leads the team in hits, triples, total bases, average and is tied for lead in doubles and stolen bases. Is second among regulars at OBP, slugging, and OPS. Like Barnes, his Ks are an issue as he comes in tied for second in most Ks only 2 behind Barnes. Overall a strong performance for the highest draft pick signed this year.
Greeneville:
David Dinelli had his best start of the season going 4 innings giving up only one run and striking out 8 Danville batters. However, Greeneville could only find 2 hits in a 4-1 loss. Brian Wabick gave up his 6th HR of the season in just ove 36 innings pitched.
