Paul Ricciarini Interview…

Posted on February 6, 2007 by Jacksonian in Bus Ride Archive

For those who might not have caught it live, you can catch the interview with Houston’s scouting director here:

MLB Audio

There’s nothing here particularly shocking. Ricciarini does note his concerns about the lack of depth in the infield spots for the Astros. Also talks a bit about player assignments for the upcoming year. For example, does Koby go to Salem or back to Lexington?. As far as Billy Hart, said he might not be ready for the beginning of the season due to elbow problems. Acknowledged the situation as far as the problem of playing time for both Max Sapp and Ralphie Henriquez (obviously that’s gonna be resolved in Sapp’s favor, but that leaves the problem as to where to assign Henriquez). Asked for his sleepers for 2007, referenced Salamida (not exactly a sleeper at this point) and Chris Johnson. Also mentioned Rule-5 pick Lincoln Holdzkom as someone who might have made an impression at the Ryan Camp last week.
