according to a recent report by Brian McTaggart. The Dominican native was the hitting coach last season at Lexington. Linares has been in the Astros organization for eight years now, the last two with the Legends. He replaces Ivan DeJesus, who as previously noted went to work for the Cubs as a special assistant to Lou Piniella.
No word yet on any other new hires, including replacements for Harry Spilman and Spike Owen at RR and of course now somebody will be needed to fill Linares’ spot as hitting coach at Lex.
