Flash back to October, a big home run by a slap hitting White Sox outfielder, only this time it was a grand slam as the Astros lost the first game of the weekend series 7-4.
Starter Andy Pettitte continues to give up home runs at a much larger rate than years past as he went only four innings allowing six hits, walking four, and left trailing 6-0. Dave Borkowski mopped up with three scoreless innings before leaving in the eighth with a runner on, who eventually scored when a ball was lost in the lights.
The Astros mounted a comeback in the fifth with three runs. Adam Everett singled and scored on a home run by Chris Burke. Lance Berkman followed with another shot to left field for back-to-back dingers, cutting the lead to 6-3. In the seventh, a single by Craig Biggio and a run scoring double by Burke plated another run, but it was too little, too late.
The chance at redemption comes soon, tomorrow at 12:20,Taylor Buchholz vs. Jon Garland.
